Ossifying chondrolipoma of the thigh: radiographic pathologic correlation
نویسندگان
چکیده
L ipomas are the most common benign soft-tissue tumors occurring in the subcutis or muscular regions. Histologically, lipoma consists of mature adipose cells, similar to normal adipose cells. Lipomas can occasionally have areas of bone or cartilage formation and are classified as osteolipomas or chondrolipomas, respectively. However, there have been few reported cases of lipoma with both ossification and cartilage formation. Here, we report an extremely rare case of ossifying intramuscular chondrolipoma in the thigh and review its radiographic and pathologic correlation. According to the guidance of the local institutional review board, the patient and her guardian provided informed written consent.

Cemento-Ossifying Fibroma A Radiographic Diagnostic Dilemma
Cemento-ossifying fibroma (COF) is a rare benign fibro-osseous tumor. The radiographic and clinical features of this lesion are unpredictable and variable. In this report, the patient was a 12-year old girl with a painless swelling which demonstrated an opaque lesion with radiolucent zone to involve left posterior portion of the mandible on panoramic radiography. The radiographic manifestati...

Cemento-ossifying fibroma (COF) of maxilla is comparatively rare lesion of the maxillofacial region. There is often a misdiagnosis in the category of fibroosseous lesions, owing to an overlap of clinical, histological and radiographic features amongst the separate entities. We present a case of giant maxillary COF causing extensive disfiguration of the face, along with extensive review of the c...
متن کاملImaging findings of ossifying fibromyxoid tumor with histopathological correlation: A case report
Ossifying fibromyxoid tumor (OFMT) is a soft tissue tumor of uncertain lineage that most often arises in the extremities of adults. Imaging findings of this uncommon tumor are rare. We, herein, present a case of OFMT occurring in the left thigh of a 36-year-old male. Radiological examinations revealed a well-circumscribed subcutaneous mass with an incomplete shell of peripheral ossification, su...

Desmoplastic fibroma is a rare benign primary bone tumor that is histologically similar to the soft tissue desmoid tumor. It most often involves the mandible, large long bone or iliac bone. Desmoplastic fibroma in a toe has been extremely rarely reported. Authors report a rare case of desmoplastic fibroma of bone occurring in the distal phalanx of a foot, with descriptions of the radiographic a...
متن کاملOssifying fibromyxoid tumor e A case report
Ossifying fibromyxoid tumor (OFMT) is a rare soft tissue tumor of uncertain histogenesis, occurring predominantly in deep soft tissues of the extremities. Typically, OFMT presents in adults on the extremities or trunk, as a deep soft tissue mass. Less appreciated is the fact that OFMT may also present as a mass in the superficial subcutis or dermis. We herein report a female who presented with ...
